it’s giving guide

Halloween is over, so sad, but thankfully it is only the start of the holiday season. Next? Thanksgiving! This year, we decided to create our women's fall outfit inspo guide centered around different Thanksgiving dishes that we love. Check out all the outfits inspired by some of the classic dishes we see this time of year!

The Pumpkin roll

We don’t know about you, but we always start off our Thanksgiving day with a pumpkin roll breakfast. A little sweet treat in the morning really sets the tone for the rest of the day. We dream about that orange and white swirl pastry for months leading up to this holiday. Therefore, it is only right that we start off our guide with an outfit based around an orange sweater layered over a white top.

The Sweet potato casserole

How did Americans get away with making sweet potato casserole a side dish? If we are honest with ourselves, this is really a dessert. Don’t get us wrong—we are not complaining! There is just something about this food that makes us want to scoop a large bowl, put on a cozy sweater, and sit around a fireplace watching Harry Potter. Yes, that is so specific, we know, but are we wrong? See how we are interpreting this dish into an autumn look below.

The mac & CHeese

While we will eat mac and cheese any day of the week, something about making it from scratch hits differently. Then when you add sriracha? That is a game changer. Mac and cheese is a classic, but can be modernized or changed to taste; just like this outfit! See mac and cheese in clothing form here.

The MASHED POTATOES & GraVY

When we think of mashed potatoes and gravy, it doesn't scream excitement! However, something about the fluffiness and the layering has us coming up with one of the coolest looks we have created yet. See how we made the bland ivory and grey colors of this side into a cool girl streetwear look!

The Cranberry sauce

This may be one of the most underrated sides on the table. While it seems underwhelming at first, upon further taste and inspection, it adds exactly what is missing in the lineup of the other super hearty and heavy dishes. Similarly, this outfit is nothing revolutionary, but it will always look good in a photo and be exactly the outfit you need during a busy day.

The green bean casserole

We won’t lie, the green bean casserole took a while to grow on us. As kids, this was the last thing on our plate. We heard the words “green beans” and were instantly repulsed. However, we can admit our tastes have changed. This outfit may not be for everybody, but we promise once you try it, you will fall in love, just like we did with green bean casserole!

The pecan pie

While pumpkin pie may be a cult classic, we have to believe there is a group out there like us that favors pecan pie. Our grandmother used to make the best homemade pecan pie ever (yes, ever, don’t question us). In her honor, we have created this look based on a vintage-inspired sweater, thick socks, and cozy slide-on shoes. Catch us wearing this look from our early 20s to our late 90s.

The turkey sandwich

On Thanksgiving, it’s not the turkey we are looking forward to the most or even the main meal. No, it is the turkey sandwich we make from the leftovers, drunk at 2:00 AM. There is truly nothing better. This sandwich includes everything but the kitchen sink. When we were deciding which outfit would fit best with this food, we knew we had to go with a quilted jacket because it is just as busy as this crazy late-night snack. Check out how we are styling it below!
